ABOUT THE POSITION
The Claims Officer provides support and service to producers, managers, clients, and Insurance Advisors. The primary responsibility is to provide claims support, while bringing leadership and efficiencies to the position.
The position reports to the President and has functional relationships with members of the Claims department, all SeaFirst staff, independent and company adjusters, and legal counsel.
Provide first response to claims reported, adhering to established procedures and ensuring timely reporting and follow up
Handle in-house claims adjusting and examining
Coach and train others in established procedures as required
Review and update claims reserves & payments
Review and update open claim status on both in-house and non-Lloyds files
Maintain Lloyds monthly claim bordereaux
Handle enquiries from adjusters and legal counsel
Contribute content to the in-house claims manual
Maintain accurate and timely client records in TAM
Keep insurance licence current by maintaining required continuing education credits and maintain compliance with all Insurance Act provisions
Adhere to established office procedures for the handling and safekeeping of monies and revenue inventory
The incumbent should have at least five (5) years of relevant experience and the appropriate adjusting licenses.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Extensive knowledge in multiple types of loss
All Personal Lines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Working knowledge of Policy Works and The Agency Manager preferred

Candidates must also hold an unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license with the use of a fully operational vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
